SEEDiA – a key to open the smart urban world in Moldova

Country:
Republic of Moldova

Author:
SEEDiA Sp. z o.o.

Local Partner:
Congresul Autoritatilor Locale din Moldova

Total budget:
US$ 60,430

Requested budget:
US$ 39,850

Time Frame:
30.11.2022 – 30.6.2023

Problem:
Firstly, skyrocketing energy costs as a result of the war in Ukraine and its tremendous increase, which particularly affects local communities, whose budget had already been thinly stretched before the invasion. Secondly, inaccessibility of public spaces, particularly affecting refugees from Ukraine.

Solution: The project aims to facilitate the transfer and implementation of smart public furniture – Bus Shelter in Stefan Voda.

The technology is energetically independent – relying completely on green energy sources (PVs) and combining multifunctional smart benches with users needs providing Wi-Fi access and charging ports. The solution increases accessibility of public commute information via the use of e-tables and voice announcements in Stefan Voda. Furthermore, it serves to gather climate & air quality statistics (dust, C02, temperature) via integrated sensors and connects directly to a Smart Cities remote management platform (InCity), helping authorities to capture data, timely respond to local climate challenges. Incorporated rainwater collecting pipe will water the Stormgarden around the structure, which help to decrease air temperature and reduce the number of dust particles in the air around the spot.
The project implementation includes a workshop and a webinar for local spatial planning & sustainable development specialists, architects and representatives of public energy-efficiency agencies.
